2009

Yokohama releases the ADVAN A050 which immediately achieves the 3 fastest times in Pro Class and Outright at Superlap at Oran Park.

2008

Time Attack racing comes to Australia. Yokohama ADVAN and hi Octane racing hold the first Superlap event at Oran Park Raceway in Sydney. The event was popular among tuning companies, competitors, and spectators and huge on internet forums.

2007

Yokohama ADVAN wins the Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro at Mount Panorama. ADVAN A048s were fitted to the Eastern Creek Karts BMW 335i which started the race dead last from pit lane and worked it's way through the field thanks to skilful driving by Paul Morris, Craig Baird and Garry Holt.

2006

Yokohama ADVAN becomes the official control tyre for the FIA World Touring Car Championship. The biggest challenge in this category is creating a tyre that gives parity performance on both front wheel and rear wheel drive cars. The ADVAN A005 dry tyre and 006 tyre do to achieve close racing. As a result the tyre contract has been extended to 2012.

2005

Yokohama ADVAN A048 R-spec tyre becomes the control tyre for the Australian V8 Ute series. The utes weigh a massive 1800 kilos and race on a slim 235mm wide tyre. The cars are powered by either a 6.0 or 5.4 litre V8. The drivers are aggressive and rub panels regularly. Competitors can use just 2 tyres for each 3 race round in the 8 round series. The A048 is used in both wet and dry conditions and on hot circuits like Hidden Valley in Darwin, Northern Territory to cold circuits like Symmons Plains in Tasmania.

The A048 has provided close competition and proved tough in arguably the biggest tyre torture test in Australian motorsport.

2002

Yokohama ADVAN wins the control tyre contract for Improved Production Racing Association which it has held to this day. This is a very popular and highly competitive category for State based modified saloon cars. They also meet once a year for a national meeting. Competitors use the ADVAN A048 which provides close racing in a wide range of sizes from 10 - 18 inch suitable for the wide variety of cars in the series which include Mazda RX7, Nissan GTR, BMW M3, Holden V8 models and Ford V8 and turbo models.

2001

ADVAN wins the GT300 Class of the All Japan GT Championship for the sixth consecutive year.

Another back to back win is achieved at the Le Mans 24 Hours Endurance Race.

The ADVAN A032R is designed for the motor sport enthusiast offering the best all-round motor sport treaded tyre to the world market.

1992

Yokohama and ADVAN win the touring car championships in UK and Australia. Again ADVAN complete a one-two-three finish in the 24 hour race at Spa-Francor champs.

1990

Yokohama and ADVAN in overseas touring car championships win in UK, Italy and Australia. ADVAN achieves an overall one-two finish in the 24 hour race at Spa-Francor champs.

ADVAN A-22H1 is selected as original equipment for Honda's F1-inspired sports car, the NSX.

1987

ADVAN takes out its third consecutive title in the All Japan Endurance Championship and the Fuji Long Distance Race Series.

1985

A car equipped with Yokohama ADVAN tyres competes in the Le Mans 24 Hours Endurance Race, and runs third in this first attempt.

1983

European Formula 3 Championship and Macau Formula 3 championship both choose ADVAN as the brand of choice. The winner of the very first Macau F3 race was a motor racing legend who stands out beyond all others: Ayrton Senna. The future formula 1 legend was just 23 at the time, but already his fierce talent was evident. Future world champions and some of racing's unforgettable drivers have used Yokohama tyres as the measure of their performance.

1982

Yokohama Rubber's first racing radial tyre was developed for the All Japan Formula 2 Championship. Team ADVAN won its first top formula race.

1981

The legendary ADVAN A008 sports tyre with the unique asymmetrical tread pattern was launched.

1980

ADVAN appeared in the All Japan Formula 2 Championship, the top formula race in Japan at the time.

1979

Team ADVAN made its racing debut in the minor touring car category, with its red and black ADVAN colour scheme, winning second prize. This marked the beginning of the ADVAN brand's glorious history.

Yokohama Rubber sponsors the "Japan Race of Champions" and starts to supply tyres for one-make races for the first time
